The databook is theoretically accurate up until the death of the Third Hokage however, this produces a lot of conflicts of graduation age versus actual age. The year 0 AK is the year in which the Kyuubi was defeated. Thus, years marked as 'BK' mean 'Before Kyuubi', and those marked as 'AK' are 'After Kyuubi'. The dates in this timeline use as reference what is probably the most significant event to occur in the Narutoverse to this point: the defeat of the Kyuubi.
